Panoramic images are not ideally suited to our calendars.

Montages never really work with our calendars.

Please Do

1. ✓Picture File Naming
   

2. •It really is a great help to us if you could re-name your images in the following manner:
   

3. January to be named: 01.jpg
   February to be named: 02.jpg
   

4. and so on.....
   

5. ✓Image quality
   

6. •We will endeavour to make sure that your images will print to the maximum quality possible. However, we can only use what you supply.
   

7. •If you can please ensure that you check the file sizes of your images. For digital images, these should be 300 dpi (or lpi), RGB jpg (or jpeg) files are best.
   

8. •Extremely small images (ie 22KB, or around about), are usually what are known as “thumbnail images”, which will not reproduce very well.
   

9. •You images sizes should realistically be around about 1 to 2 MB (give or take).
   

10. •Please note: If we feel that your images will not print very well, we will call or email you to warn you prior to printing. It will then be your decision as to whether we should continue to print with what you have supplied, or whether you want to re-supply images that are more suitable.
    

11. ✓Panoramic Images
    

12. •Whereas we are looking to provide calendars that can utilise panoramic images for 2011, we would recommend that you do not supply these for our calendars.
    

Please Don’t

1. ✓Picture Cropping
   

2. •All our calendars feature your pictures in a square format. This enables our calendars to be put together quickly, whilst enabling us to keep the costs of the calendars down. It also works best when we are presented with all different shapes and size of photograph.
   

3. •However, by cropping pictures down, it inevitably cuts areas of the photos out (see right). Therefore we strongly suggest that you try to take this into consideration when providing landscape images that encompass groups of people that are all required to be displayed (see left).
   

4. •Our image editors are professionals who have been editing images for many years and a great deal of effort is put into ensuring that your pictures are displayed in the best possible way.
   

5. ✓Montages
   

6. •We strongly suggest that you supply one image for each page. Some previous customers have tried to “get the best” out of our calendars by producing their own little montages of 4 or 5 images per page. The simple truth of the matter is - it just doesn’t work!
   

7. •The pictures look too small, and we still have to ensure that the entire image fits into a square area.
   

8. •In fact it only really serves to make the calendars look like a bit of a mess, and very unprofessional so please refrain from trying this.
   

9. •We can’t stop you, but we have been doing this for a number of years, so please take our word for it, as we think you will be disappointed.
   

10. •Please note: If you really want to try it, you must supply the images as montages. We will not do it for you.
    

11. ✓Panoramic Images
    

12. •Whereas we are looking to provide calendars that can utilise panoramic images for 2011, we would recommend that you do not supply these for our calendars, as they are even more problematic.
    

13. ✓Print-outs of scans
    

14. •Some customers have previously sent us print-outs of images that they have scanned. If you already have an electronic file, please send it to us instead of a print-out. We only have to scan the image again and the picture quality deteriorates every time it is re-scanned.
